Calaveras Big Trees
This last weekend we took our 3rd annual camping trip to Calaveras Big Trees. We love it. Beautiful country! We got the same camp site as last year. The kids had a blast! We joined some of the activities the rangers put on. The Jr cub program teaches them about nature and animals, we did a night star program. The ranger showed us different constellations and told stories about them. We went to a campfire sing along. So much fun!! (in a nerdy kind of way!)
Before- we started out pretty clean!
After- I wish you could really see all the dirt on them!
Thursday we unpacked and the took the hike near the visitors center. The hike is about 1 1/2 miles. The kids do great. The hike has a numbered trail so you can read about all the different trees. This is actually standing inside a fallen tree.
The kids are standing on a tree stump. You can only see half of it in the picture, that is how big some of the trees are. Absolutely amazing!
Friday we went to Lake Alpine and rented a little fishing boat. We went fishing. The kids loved it. We sadly did not catch any fish. It was fun just to drive the boat around the lake. Beautiful!
Anna Grace helped by handing us bait! She loved the worms!
Saturday we found Beaver Creek. Beautiful little river the kids splashed around in. The river was snow melt so it was a little chilly! Didn't stop them!

Anna's First Dance Recital
Anna had her first Dance recital this last weekend. She was adorable! She started out the week saying, "I don't want to wear the dress or the shoes." She did wear the dress and the shoes and she loved it!! She asked for makeup and sparkles and lipstick, and just really had a blast. I was so proud of my little princess! She really did a great job!
Anna and her friend Abby. Too cute!
Self Portrait. I love this picture cause you can see all the sparkles.
Nana came on the First night, so did Gram and Aunt Cookie (Kim)
